I like the kind of pearl pink sheen, and paired with something printed underneath, it could look great.

I bought the always cardigan in black and navy and find that they are perfect for layering over tees. I agree, the lighter colors definately look more loungish/pj-ish. Very comfy though! And for $30?? that's cheaper than some of their short sleeve tees!
Ooo, I really like the dark one! And even though I already have 2 black cardigans, I can make room for another, haha!
OT Target alert:
I am into the tiered ruffle skirt/dress look. I spied one at Target in both black ruffles and the softest shade of pink ruffles by Exhiliration (juniors) item: 282-05-0116. On the website, I am guessing NO ONE would even buy this thing (although there are 2 great reviews on the black version) but the model looks bad in it (it is not that short and can be pulled up or worn lower depending on style you are after).
Anyway, in person this is an eye-catcher and a fun find at $16.99. Check it out in store if possible..my stores (I went to 3!) only had XXL left(not surprised as it's cute!) and I finally found a medium which fits great. FUN find:)
i got in black and i am lovvving it!! love the fact that its thick enuf to wear a tee underneath without the seam lines sticking out.. i know old nay and express had their versions out but the materials didnt quite stike a chord.. well done j crew .. which color did you keep?:

The dark cardigan looks great. I got a similar one made of sweatshirt material at Target last week.
I bought both the black and the gray and LOVE THEM. Wear the gray around the house, and the black one has been my "go to" cardigan. Like others have said, light enough to throw over a tee and not feel too bulky. I think I now need the navy.........:)
i looove mine! in fact, i even wore it today! i got the navy and im loving it! its a lot thicker than the tissue tees they sell. i just love how it is under $30! great gift imo!
It looks great on you! I knew as soon as I got it on that it was coming home with me. :) I'd like another, too. I bought the gray because the black and navy were already gone in my size. I think I'd like to get the peach - I think it's more saturated IRL.
I am waiting for my grey one to arrive -- and if it fits, I'm going to get black and navy. A personal shopper online recommended it with an embellished tissue tee as a casual twinset look. We will see. :)

I agree with you on your comment that lighter colors can sometimes look like lougewear. It's the same for me. Light peach makes me feel like I'm wearing my PJ's. Looks great on certain other people, though.
I saw this cardi styled at B&M with the long sleeve Frances shirt and belted. I might get the black one...great price!
I wish JC would offer more of these REASONABLY priced items that are well made.

Pamela - This cardi is listed in both the sleepwear & loungewear categories on J Crew. It's definitely wearable outside, though. In the right weather, of course.
sweetsy - Thanks for posting the Tarjay find. It's so cute. I definitely haven't seen that in the store. Probably sold out in my area. If Target updates their online photography, watch out. But for now...it's so hard to tell what's going to look good or not.

jcmama - I haven't tried my F21 version over a long sleeve blouse. Only over a tee and then belted. I'll have to try it over a l/s button down. Sounds like it might be bulky. Maybe not.
Thanks for the review. I ordered and returned the Always cardi in navy. It's great for spring and early fall but I felt like it was too thin to keep for winter.

I purchased the Targets girls bow sweater the other week in an XL and it fits like a dream. Such a sweet sweater - glad I'm not the only one to notice!

too good to be true- I went to the register with my jcrew always cardigan yesterday and it ran up at 39, not 29 even though the tag read 29. The associate wasn't going to honor it but the look on my face must have convinced her to "bend" the rules. She told me that they were all mismarked and that the warehouse/headquarters/whatever messed up. Just a heads up to those going to the B/M stores to check the price before and at the register.
spiffy - Thanks for the info. I'll be curious to see if they change the price on these or let it fly. They need something w/a low price point like this. They may be losing money on it, but it's good for business. There are many times I will justifying purchasing something more expensive in a store because I'm getting a good deal on something else at the same time.
Gigi! Thanks for the tip on the target girls sweater! I can somehow wear Target Girls XL, it fits perfectly, and it is so soft and super cute! The bow has little metallic details on it. Anyone a little petite, I highly recommend trying it! :)
