Ann Taylor Loft - new arrivals pt 2

1) Corsage Crew Neck Cardigan - $59.50 - It's online in black & lake blue (pictured). If I recall, there are other colors available in-store, incl a purple color.
Size S

2) Petal Detail V-Neck Cardigan - $69.50 - online in violet stone, bright plum, black and dark grey melange (pictured)
Size S

3) Rosette Smocked Cotton/Silk Blouse - $54.50 - It comes in black, shadow grey & bright plum. It's a cotton/silk blend.

Size S - We need some ATL math by Post Fab Princess. Right now lily pads are coming to mind.

4) Cascading Ruffle Shell - $49.50 - comes in 6 beautiful colors
Size S - too big - very pretty in-person though

5) Chiffon trim henley - $34.50
Size XS

6) Ruffle Collar Plaid Shirt - I haven't seen this in person. Ruffles + plaid are doing a lot in my book. Others might like the femininity of ruffles w/the plaid. It probably looks very cute w/a cardi.

Also, I added a irl pic of the Ann Taylor Loft chiffon cardigan in black. This is the pretty rose colored one featured in Family Circle.

I reviewed some other ATL items here and here. Also, check out some of the new ATL arrivals on Debye.

Love that petal sweater. I actually saw it on-line but the primary photo shows it looking much shorter than the one in the gray color. It looks really good on you. Great finds as always!

I like the petal sweater, the "lily-pad" shirt, and ruffled plaid shirt. I'd like to see them in person to know how the fabric feels.

I feel like if stores do not stop making things with ruffles, blossoms and petals and such I am going to go crazy! Note to retailers: enough already.
I love this type of stuff but my eye is tired of seeing the same old! I feel like there is more than enough everywhere and now it is time for something different. Just my two cents.

I like the first two cardigans and the plaid shirt. I saw some Gap shirts with ruffles but they are cut contoured so I had to size up and ended not getting them.

OMG, doesn't ATL have some really cute things in right now!? However, so much of it reminds me of J.Crew. They have a twisted pearl and crystal necklace that is a dead ringer for the J.Crew version. Also, that streamers cami in this post looks very similar to the J.Crew one. I have to say that ATL prices tend to be better AND they carry petites in store. They are quickly getting a bigger and bigger chunk of my clothing budget!

lcsmom - Hope you're doing well! I love the petal sweater. Thumbs up.

Cleo26 - The petal sweater felt great. The lily pad shirt wants to feel silky but it felt polyester to me. I will take pics of the plaid shirt if I see it. I probably won't be back in the store for a week at least though.

Anon@7:03a - I am seeing so many ruffles everywhere and on everyone. Usually things come down to money. I imagine it's cheaper to fab an embellishment than create style on garments through tailoring

jcmama - Thanks for chiming in, and adding info about the GAP. I haven't reviewed them because nothing is too exciting right now. Their check button down shirt is so HUGE.

GingerSnap - Sometimes I think other retailers are copying J Crew and sometimes I don't. Esp when a SA told me that the primrose Brynn dress reminded her of a Michael Kors piece from a few eyars ago. Maybe not MK...it was someone like that. There's another guy I get him confused with. Anyway -- it would behoove retailers to copy JC since Michele Obama has worn JC quite a bit. At the same time JC styles aren't completely original and they recycle what they do quite a bit. Of course they are one of my stop stores and will remain that way for awhile. ;-)

gigiofca: I believe every retailer copies whatever design is shown on the catwalk, and not J Crew. JC might be slightly ahead of the fashion curve by a year or so and more likely to try a new trend out, while other retailers take a wait and see approach. The retailers around me have the same styles as J Crew it just took a little longer to get here, ruffles and graphic tees everywhere, and JC does not operate in Canada. I even saw today a very similar style to the new Dream assymetrical (spelled incorrectly) pullover sweater. J Crew needs to get ahead of the next trend and give us something different to look at other than ruffles IMO.

casual-crew - Many of us here (specifically) have our eyes trained on JC and, as a result, think other retailers are copying them. don't follow high fashion so I can't point out who J Crew is 'inspired by.' Clearly all of their design ideas are not complete originals. In short I agree with you.

I bought the petal cardi today. I love that it snaps instead of buttons! I have the plum tiered JC top on its way and I think they'll look good together. I also tried on the chiffon cardi and I love it, but I'm going to try to wait on that one since it's short sleeves. Maybe with my Loft cards that I got today? My sister bought the plaid ruffle shirt and it's adorable on! Plus, it has little silver threads running through it - so cute! They have lots of jewelry that I'm in love with, too.

I am not normally drawn to plaid shirts, but that ruffle plaid shirt from ATL is to die for. I LOVE IT!!

I bought both of these cardigans in a petite size and am so happy with the fit! I am also surprisingly pleased with the fabric blend of merino wool and acrylic(!), which is actually quite comfortable as well as shape retentive. I just hope these pieces wear well and don't cause skin irritation.

Thanks, Gigi, for the extensive ATL coverage! I really enjoyed reading your posts and the replies generated. So, which pieces did you end up getting or plan to pick up? :)

Thanks for posting, Gigi! Just wanted to add that they have #2 in this lovely light brown/*almost* antique stone color too. It was sold out online, but I found one at the store today!

math teacher - The petal cardi sounds cute w/the ruffle cardi. Very cute. Thanks for adding info about the plaid ruffle shirt.

Anon/LL - I got the merino corsage cardi in black, the long ruffle v cardi in dark grey, the sequin shell and the chiffon rose cardi. It definitely looks better open than closed. I added a pic of it in the post. I like the way I feel in it & G Money likes it. It's too bad it doesn't have sleeves. We still have sun here, though.

mommydearest - Oooh...antique-y stone at ATL. I'll have to look for it.

FashionAddict - *lol* Thanks for visiting :-)

Anon/LL - I am trying to practice hyperlinking. I'm going to try again.
